Depending on the type and size of your business some refrigeration operating costs cannot be avoided - but you can work towards reducing them.

Stock levels

Keep refrigeration equipment full at all times as this reduces the level of warm air infiltration with each door opening. This will reduce motor running times.

The condenser (looks like a radiator) being clogged with dust

Vacuum and remove dust regularly for shorter motor operating cycles.

Restock at night rather than next morning

Use lower cost off-peak times to cool stock.

Evaporator with ice build up

Defrost regularly to help prevent the failure of the evaporator, reduce operating costs and possible expensive stock loss and repair cost.

Coolstore/refrigerator door gaskets in poor condition

This will cause longer motor running times due to warm air infiltration and may affect cabinet temperature. Replace or fix worn gaskets.
