Our annual Sustainability Report outlines material Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risks and opportunities, our actions to address them, and our performance against the focus areas, priorities and targets committed to in our Sustainability Framework 2022-2026. We are pleased to present our Sustainability Report 2024 at a time of rapid change in Victoria’s energy landscape.

Last year, a record number of fruit bats (also known as flying foxes) migrated to northern Victoria, causing dozens of power outages and, sadly, many fatalities when they came into contact with our network. The community’s concern was loud and clear and we acted just as quickly.

Maria Jose didn’t realise it at the time, but her lamp building experience would eventually lead to a promising career in power. Maria is a former recipient of our Women in Engineering Scholarship program and current Engineering graduate. As part of International Women in Engineering Day she shares her career journey with us.
